interesting ideas here, kinda scaryish... would prolly fit a game pretty well.

This is actually using a rather cheap and very awesome synth program called "Audiomulch," which I suggest you get. It's got a bunch of gadgets, but it really is like...Cubase lite, maybe, sorta, kinda, not really. This is all done raw using nothing else but Audiomulch, though you could plug any live audio source or midi source into it as a sequencer, or just to layer effects and tweak the envelope and all that.
Nine Inch Nails used this, presumably to use the guitar effects, no doubt.

Interesting. Is this song supposed to have a theme? (IE game, chill music, etc.)

As it's purpose, it was actually intended to be a fairly easy piece for a fairly popular DDR emulation program known as Stepmania.
I actually remember doing the entire package minus the "oni" difficulty or whatever the hell it was.
